SELF DISABLEMENT

Self disablement is a societal ailment which has Biblical roots. We need to address those Biblical roots. As Christians we, in order to present the Gospel to those who are society's obviously downtrod, and the not so obvious downtrod, have a need to examine the connection that the fall of man has to this ailment. The ailment of SELF DISABLEMENT. The first thing we must have a confidence of, concerning this ailment, is that it is SATANIC BONDAGE. We must assess it as a SEPARATE ALTAR OF WORSHIP UNAWARES! It is a system of works which intends to userp the POWER OF GOD ON THE LIVES OF MANY. We must see it, on our guard, as the parader of a false modesty which allows the works of Satan to COME INTO EXISTENCE BELOW, THE RADAR. Peculiarly enough, THIS IS SPIRITUAL WARFARE. Yes, this is that warfare that most of us do not possess a inkling of. Not for naught does the Word caution us that: "No man that warreth entangleth himself in the affairs of this life, that he may prove himself to be a good soldier." I bring this Biblical passage up because we, too, too much are immersed into the same affairs that uninspirited man finds occupation with. And so are not qualified to discern or meet the Spiritual warefare head on.

In order to come to this knowledge (The knowledge that deliverance for those in the clutches of self disablement is a Spiritual warfare.) in a more pedestrian, way we shall address the alcoholic, the drug addict, the law breaker, and also to complete the victims of this ailment (self disablement), the outcasts and considered failures in life. The unsuccessful by man's standards, the obscurity seekers (even the celebrity seekers).
The analyst would be wary of making the connection that this malady has to the Word of God for fear of scoff and donning the vesture of the religous and unscientific (Considered the uninspired man of God to them.). Sadly the Church is largely instrumental in man holding to the view that the Christian man is narrow and uninspired. We Christians do propagate a great deal of silliness attributed to the average Christian life. They will have their excuse, let's not give them any more ammunition than that. I can't say if there will be a day for science and mental health proponents to come back to God. I leave this, I hope, to the Christian psychologist, psychiatrist and scientist.
Go to the nearest homeless shelter. Witness the dredges of society, spewed out by society BECAUSE THEY WITNESS TO SOCIETIE'S DILEMMA. We find the drug addict and the alcoholic and the emotionally disturbed there come to pick up the pieces (Sincerely, in some cases.), convinced that their critics are correct and it is all a matter of will power vs. choices.They were cast out because we've no resistence to representations of our condition and fallen state. We have no time for sad reminders. In those very homeless shelters enter volunteers from the medical and mental health profession. With the tools of their craft they make valient efforts to try and deliver these poor folks. They preach such things as self esteem, and accountability, and retribution by the addict/alcoholic to those they have wronged. The success rate if any is 5%. Partly due to this they belabor the point that IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO BAD CHOICES, IE will power. They come there for (in some sincere cases) unshackling, that someone would remove their burdens. Instead MORE BURDENS ARE LAID UPON THEIR NECKS. It is due to frustration for the most part that we wash our hands of them and GIVE UP ON THEM. We relinquish obligation AS OUR BROTHER'S KEEPERS AND DESIGNATE THEM AS LOST CAUSES. The Christian in some of us also gives up on them. Undesirables.
They find dispensational time periods where they appear to be clean and rehabilitated and in good use of their mantras, their talismans, and 12 step programs.Like the child of God while away at a retreat (not in a real environment) until they return to truer circumstances, and yet again are faced with their true Spiritual level.
Let us also consider the average joe, who may be a recipient of the observation that "He is held in the throes of his demons." He could be a guy who cannot hold unto a job for very long. Contrary to popular belief that "He is lazy and not in possession of the manly virtue of honoring the call to support his family financially", this guy COULD BE JUST LIKE THE ALCOHOLIC AND ADDICT, without a clue as to why he behaves like this. THIS IS SELF DISABLEMENT.
So, what are we, as a Christian, for the moment, looking at (presently)? We are looking at SELF DISTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR. SATAN THE DESTROYER, IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING IN UPON! Let my people go. Let them go. A great man of God, (Dwight Pentecost) once said, "There is no such thing as blind faith. Faith needs a target." The target is in need of being made more visible so that our faith can land upon it, and hit the mark. We are building a case here for the expansion of that target we're to aim our faith at.
KNOWLEDGE, YE PEOPLE OF GOD, WILL EXPAND THE TARGET FOR US. This is the source for the power of God upon our lives: A target large enough for our faith to hit. So with that in mind, understand that, A) No self distructive behavior is kept UNLESS IT IS BEING REWARDED. Believe me I would love to stress this point again, and again. This is a point which boggles the mind of those who keep self distructive behavior. "How could I be keeping this behavior because I'm comfortable with it. I don't want to do this." Paul said, "Oh wretched man.....that which I would, I do not. That which I would not, that I do!" Listen, ye people of God, God is the king of logic. Those who think they're very great logicians are playing with toys if they don't have among their possessions, GOD.
What is to follow is a case for THE SIMPLICITY OF THE THINGS RELATIVE TO GOD, IN COMPARISON TO THE COMPLEXITY OF THE WEB LOST MAN HAS WOVEN. I cite so called science, psychology and psychiatry.
It is my experience THAT, ALL SELF DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR IS KEPT TO support a image of lovability, or a image of SELF AS LOVABLE AND ACCEPTED. Every one goes thru infancy. The MOST FRIGHTENING THING TO THE MIND OF A CHILD IS TO FEEL THAT THEY ARE UNLOVABLE. It is this consideration which fuels the path of the SELF DESTRUCTIVE. It is in part due to the transition between infancy (Where we experience a dispensational period of having all of our needs met, without any investment on our part.), and the entering into that equation of corporal correction for our safety's sake. This is a time where the guardian of the child is hard pressed to communicate instructions to a child who has limitations in communicative skills. And so a great deal of vexing and frustration settles upon the child. But one thing as a simple stage is communicated to the child without the need for much schooling in language skills. The ability of ASSOCIATION TO string together a, "Hey, this treatment does not jive with the previous one of NONE ASSESSMENT." And so the void is invoked and emotional pain is raised. And bear in mind that this is not WHERE IT BEGINS. This is but a scenario that SERVES TO INVOKE THAT WHICH WAS ALREADY THERE IN EVERY CHILD BORN OF ADAM. I speak of that primordial stamp which man comes into this sphere with, INHERITED FROM ADAM: The void where the Spirit of God once rested. The place in everyone THAT IS A WITNESS TO THAT TRAUMA OF THAT SAD EVENT. Yes that is THE FIRST TIME MAN ASKED HIMSELF THAT SILLY QUESTION, "AM I NOT LOVABLE?" I.E. Adam had assessed the culmination of the love of God accorded him, while in the care of God, AS SOMETHING HE COULD TAKE CREDIT FOR! Now that God removed his Spirit from man and removed him (man) from the care and shelter of God (Garden of Eden) it must be that Adam was no longer this magnate that could attract the Love of God. And back then, though we know, that Adam was obedient in teaching his children correctly concerning God's due (worship, reverence, etc.), we also must attribute and recognize the spirit of man (not the Spirit of God) and its capacity for human frailty input. Of course you have heard the indictment of a child, "That's not fair." We don't have to go far to find Cain saying "My punishment is too hard to bear." Well the trauma experienced by man in Adam houses this as a psychological imprint; the sentiment of questioning God's assessment against us, encapsulated by a spirit of resentment.
Man is AN ASSESSOR. How big, how much, wether pretty, ugly, in what condition. It is because of the VOIDEDNESS FACT IN US THAT WE'RE IN NEED OF IDENTIFYING WITH VALUE. Our assessorship ability comes out of our voidedness. Mistakenly a lot of Christians are living out of their voidedness. There are two source drives in extant. The void, and the Holy Spirit of God. So, at some juncture after the void is invoked on several occasions for the ASSESSING ADAMIC CHILD. Their psyche COMES UP WITH A PLAN (This is a REDEMPTION DRAMA, by the way!), BECAUSE THE POTENTIAL OF THE ASSESSMENT, "UNLOVABLE", INVOKED THE NOTHINGNESS OF THAT VOID WITHIN THEM, as if threatening to devour them. If you scoff here, keep in mind that the very Spirit of Adoption God supplies for us thru Christ, is also the Spirit of a SOUND MIND. Listen that's how it feels, like you stand to lose your mind when the presence of the VOID IS MADE CONSCIOUS TO MAN. And so the Redemption Drama for the life plan goes something like this (when, they survey, assess all the void invoking situations where correction of a sort were directed at them.); A) It's not that daddy, mommy, guardian didn't love me (IE, It's not that I'm UNLOVABLE.). B) It's that I was (am) bad. AND SO WE HAVE, C) Their Redemption Drama following suit must be A REPRESENTATIONAL LIFETIME OF THEM BEING ASSESSED AS A END PRODUCT: "BAD".
So yes, ANY SEMBLANCE OF SUCCESS, WILL THROW THEM INTO NERVOUSNESS, UNEASE (fill with anxiety) AND THE INEVITABLE SELF DISABLEMENT MUST FOLLOW. Any semblance indicating the potential of their being good BRINGS INTO FOCUS THE POSSIBILITY THAT they were not LOVED! Of course as I have said before, the answer and solution is in the power of God, is in Christ. And perhaps the introduction of the knowledge which will describe and expose the not easily assailable works of the devil can serve to lead some to the door step of immersion by the power of God on their life. The power is there, available, and within those who trust and accept the Son of God.
It is a sort of a LIFETIME ODE TO THE SUPPORT OF A IMAGE OF THEMSELVES AS LOVABLE. When I was researching this concept at one time, because of my human weakness for redemption dramas, I had concluded that the self disablement was perpetuated to keep the myth alive that the parents did love the child. IE THE CHILD COULD NOT LIVE WITH A IMAGE THAT WOULD TARNISH THAT OF ANYTHING, BUT LOVING PARENTS. But, on a less dramatice scale (more honest and calculative), I boiled it down to SELFISHLY BUILDING A IMAGE OF SELF AS LOVABLE. What's the dif? On the one hand (drama) we see a sad child GO THRU LIFE SACRIFICING SELF JUST TO EXCUSE THE PARENT. IE SENTIMENTALISM. On the other hand (not so drama) THE INDIVIDUAL, (since, "All our righteousnessess are as filthy rags.") SELFISHLY IS CONDEMNING SELF TO A LIFETIME OF SACRIFICING SELF TO CREDIT SELF WITH BEING LOVABLE. It, the practice is voidal and therefore gets US VALUE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST.
The KEY-MOST elements here are the following sentiments (I STATED PRIORLY in past articles) SO WHAT IF I'M UNLOVABLE. God loved me before I could even figure out a way to MYTHOLOGICALLY REPRESENT my self as lovable. And he's shown His love at Calvary. Obviously HIS LOVE DOES NOT REQUIRE MY LOVABILITY.
There's now therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. I ADDRESS YOU WHO are living a lifetime of self condemnation TO PRESERVE AND LEND SUPPORT TO A IMAGE OF YOURSELF AS LOVABLE. You are free from that. That millstone needs not be carried by you any longer. It is a lie of the devil. YOU DO NOT REQUIRE A IMAGE OF LOVABILITY. THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS. RAISE UP THOSE HANDS AND REMOVE THOSE SHACKLES. CHRIST IS HERE TO DELIVER YOU.
